Two Western Australians have been named as among the most influential within the social sector.
MercyCare chief executive Chris Hall and Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia chief executive Craig Comrie have been included in the inaugural Impact 25 list.
In November, not-for-profit focused organisation Pro Bono called for nominations for the country’s most influential people working in and around the social economy.
The resulting honour roll of 25 individuals was topped by World Vision chief executive Tim Costello.
Mr Hall was ranked the seventh most influential individual due to his career spanning more than 40 years in the social services sector.
He has been chief executive of MercyCare since 2010.
Mr Hall said the recognition came at one of the most challenging times for the not-for-profit sector.
In addition to being chief executive of the Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia, Mr Comrie has been the chairperson of the Australian Youth Affairs Coalition since 2012.
He is also a founding member of the National Rural Law and Justice Alliance and a senior policy officer at the Australian Youth Affairs Coalition.
Such endeavours prompted his ranking as the nation’s 10th most influential person in the social sector.
