Tipper heads Brockman
Russell Tipper has been appointed as chief executive officer at Pilbara iron ore explorer Brockman Resources, from March 1. Mr Tipper will join Brockman from Aquila Resources, where he has been general manager, iron ore, for more than four years. Prior to this he has worked in senior management and operational roles in steel raw materials operations, producing iron ore, coal and manganese for both Robe River Mining and BHP Billiton.
GESB recruits Rosario as chief
State superannuation provider GESB has appointed Howard Rosario as its new chief executive officer. Mr Rosario was previously the CEO of local super fund Westscheme for more than 22 years, until it merged with AustralianSuper early last year. He replaces Michele Dolin at GESB, who left last year after state government policy changes meant the privatisation plan she oversaw would not take place. Barlow new AusGroup CEO
Resource fabrication, construction and integrated service provider AusGroup has appointed Laurie Barlow as chief executive officer. Mr Barlow has been the managing director – minerals and industry for AECOM Australia and a member of the AECOM Global Operations Leadership team since 2007. Prior to that, he was vice-president and general manager of SNC-Lavalin Australia. Mr Barlow will take over from current acting CEO and managing director Stuart Kenny.
Wirrpanda joins Volta
West Africa-focused gold explorer Volta Mining has appointed former West Coast Eagles premiership player David Wirrpanda to its board as a non-executive director. Mr Wirrpanda is currently a consultant to Azure Capital, and founder and a director of The David Wirrpanda Foundation.
