Senegal-focused gold explorer Erin Resources has established a new board of directors, with Brett Mitchell appointed chairman and Nick Poll recruited as managing director.
Mr Poll’s predecessor Grant Davey remains on the board as a non-executive director.
The new three-person board is closely associated with Craig Burton’s privately-held investment group Verona Capital.
Mr Poll was co-founder (with Mr Burton) and managing director of Mirabela Nickel and led the discovery and development of the Santa Rita nickel project in Brazil. He also worked for WMC Resources and is a geologist by profession.
Mr Mitchell is a corporate finance professional who sits on five public company boards, including Transerv Energy, Citation Resources and Wildhorse Energy. Mr Mitchell and Mr Davey are also executives at Verona.
The new appointments follow James Malone and Robert Besley stepping down as chairman and director respectively. They also come after a restructure and change of focus for the company, which changed its name last September from Health Corporation. That was four months after it stuck a deal, backed by Verona, to buy gold prospects in Senegal, in west Africa.
