QUBE Property Group managing director Mark Hector and Emeco Holdings chief executive Ken Lewsey are among five business leaders appointed to the board of Lifeline WA, as the not-for-profit crisis support service seeks to strengthen its corporate ties.
They are joined by Department of Transport director-general Reece Waldock, Professional Public Relations general manager Nicole Moody, and former Marketforce Advertising strategy director Nicole Walton.
Lifeline WA chairman Brett Goodridge said the appointments would bolster the organisation's commercial and strategic capacity.
“Each of the new board members brings a wealth of experience, skills and knowledge to the organisation, significantly enhancing the capacity to support Lifeline WA through our next growth phase,” he said.
“It’s clear the community values and trusts Lifeline WA and we need to ensure we meet the challenges of supporting an increasing number of people who need support in a crisis so as to reduce the rates of suicide in this state, while enhancing our vital community awareness and corporate education services.”
Mr Goodridge also thanked Wayne Rimmer, who is stepping down from the Lifeline board due to increasing professional commitments in his role as an executive at National Australia Bank.
Lifeline WA delivers services that aim to prevent suicide, support people in crisis and create opportunities for emotional wellbeing.
Its services include counselling, crisis interventions, group programs, self-care resources, personal support, training and education, information and referral services.
