Guthrie joins Vimy as RCF rep

Local resources executive Vanessa Guthrie has been appointed to the board of uranium explorer Vimy Resources as a nominated representative of fund manager Resource Capital Funds.

Ms Guthrie joins Vimy as a non-executive director, and returns to the uranium sector after having previously served as managing director of Toro Energy until last year.

She joins Vimy as a representative of RCF, which holds a 26 per cent stake in the uranium explorer and is its largest shareholder.

Vimy chair Cheryl Edwardes welcomed Ms Guthrie to the board.

“Her appointment will strengthen the board at an exciting time for the company as we finalise the definitive feasibility study of the Mulga Rock project,” Mrs Edwardes said.

“Vanessa brings unique skills and experience, with particular strengths in uranium projects and sustainable development, which will be invaluable to Vimy.”

Ms Guthrie also serves as a non-executive director of the Minerals Council of Australia, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and energy giant Santos, and is also deputy chair of the WACA.

Vimy shares were unchanged at 12.5 cents each at the close.
